Happy new year to you all! I took some time off from the blog over the festive period and for the first half of January, but I've been busy beavering away behind the scenes. I hope 2016 was good to you all and wishing you a fab 2017. Today I thought I'd share with you my crafty 2016 in photo form...
January
In January I started working on new Fair Isle necklace designs and had a lot of fun playing with colour and beautiful Shetland wool. I hit the ground running with new Fair Isle designs and custom orders

I had a lot of fum knitting the very cute Tiny Clanger for my niece!
February
In February I launched a collection of Fair Isle brooches

March
In March, Mr Writer went away to work in Korea for 4,5 weeks and I missed him a lot. Looking at these photos bought it all back! I tried to keep busy, making a new Fair Isle brooch collection (squares!) and getting out and about with family and friends

I had a great time visiting The Knitting and Stitching show at Olympia with a friend. The knitted food competition was amazing!
April
In April we both had a week off and enjoyed the emerging Spring, getting out and about for lots of walks

May
In May I launched a new collection of Fair Isle necklaces
And spent as much time as possible outside in the garden
Celebrating a colleagues birthday at the day job with beautifully colourful cakes!
June
In June I took two weeks off, which is something that I hadn't done for years. By this time, Summer was really in full swing and it was very hot
I visited the stunning Wisley Gardens in Surrey- I would really recommend a vist, it's such a beautiful place
We also visited Brighton, which is somewhere I've always wanted to visit.It wasn't such a hot and sunny day, but we checked out the pier, drank some lovely wine, had some great food and even squeezed in a visit to Choccywocckydoodah for some treats!
I finished the Tilly and The Buttons pajama bottoms that had been on my to do list for a long time
I also made a new Harris Tweed button brooch collection
and started a granny square crochet blanket
My friend had also bought me an afternoon tea voucher in a vintage cafe so we went along and had a wonderful afternoon
July
In July I launched my Harris Tweed mini embroidery hoop necklaces
It was still very hot and Mr Writer was searching for Pokemon, so we enjoyed lots of walks by the water. A great excuse for an ice cream!

August
We were so lucky to have a beautiful Summer in 2016. I made the most of it, working in the garden and walking in the park
In late July and through to August, I was thinking ahead to Christmas and making new work for Christmas craft fairs
September
In September,
The Minories in Colchester started stocking my Harris Tweed mini embroidery hoop necklaces
I worked hard making new Fair Isle necklaces for winter fairs
We visited the beautiful
Ulting Wick gardens and enjoyed the last of the Summer sunshine. Looking at this blog post got me looking forward to Summer!

The weather started to turn and we took a trip to London to visit the
Sky Garden- the views across the city were amazing!
I was chuffed to bits that my Fair Isle necklaces were featured in Simply Knitting magazine!
October
In October I started to get extremely busy preparing for the Christmas season ahead, making new pieces for my Etsy Shop and to sell at craft fairs. Things got a bit hectic from here on in!

I ran an Alice In Wonderland themed jewellery making workshop for a charity event and had a fab evening
November
November got really really busy! I was so happy to take part in The Renegade Fair at The Old Truman Brewery in London
As well as the Bust Christmas Craftacular in London
I was thrilled
to be interviewed for Homemaker magazine, which came out on my birthday!
For my birthday we headed off on the Eurostar to Bruges, which is a place that Mr Writer and I have always wanted to visit. Look out for a blog post about our trip soon- what a pretty place
December
In December, life was still very hectic and I didn't get the chance to blog very much.
However, I made some new pieces, like these Harris Tweed purses. Look out for these, I'll be making some more to add to my Etsy Shop soon

this How To for upcycled fabric Christmas gift tags
I was thrilled to bits that an ambition of mine was realised in December, when my Fair Isle necklaces were featured in Mollie Makes magazine! It completely made my year
